Dr Martin McDonnell – Dstl Dr Martin McDonnell is a Principal Scientist in the Detection Department of the Defence Science Technology Laboratory at Porton Down, Wiltshire in the United Kingdom. He received a first class honours degree and PhD in chemistry from the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne in 1984. Following postdoctoral research positions at the Australian National University, Southampton University and University College London, he joined what was then the Chemical and Biological Defence Establishment in 1992. Since that time he has worked on the rapid detection and identification of pathogenic micro-organisms.
Stephen Williams FCA – Finance Director Current Head of Finance of Dstl, Stephen is a Qualified Chartered Accountant who has extensive experience of working at a senior level within the media sector, with a particular emphasis on acquisitions. He was also involved in the financing of the launch of Channel 4 and brings over 20 years experience of the Private Sector and 8 years of the Public Sector to this role.
